Disordered eating habits and body image issues
I have a special interest in working with females aged 16 plus with disordered eating habits and body image issues and have obtained training to inform my work in this area.
If you are someone who does not feel satisfied with your body? Or have you been dieting without sustained results? Do you wonder if you have developed patterns that are interfering with maintaining healthy habits?
Therapy can be a starting point to improve and create change.
Starting with a new diet, and macro/meal plan is not the first step in this journey. Disordered eating habits and emotional and mental health problems do not exist independently. Various complex emotional, mental, physical, and environmental issues contribute to a person’s habits with food and how they perceive themselves. Understanding and working through these complex experiences is needed to create sustainable change, whatever that change may be.
When supporting clients with these concerns it is important to consider my professional scope of practice and my client's wellbeing is the number one priority. If there are presenting concerns that are outside my scope of practice, I can help people connect with other specialized services that are appropriate for their unique needs. Additionally, supporting these complex needs sometimes requires an interdisciplinary support system, such as referrals to other professionals including Registered Dieticians and Physicians. This is something I can help people navigate.
I am a Registered Social Worker, so my services are covered by many insurance providers. To book with me for any service, I require scheduling 1 free discovery call to ensure my service is right for you.
To book a discovery call head to “Book an Appointment,” email me there, and we can book a call. I am accepting new clients currently.
